What we mean by cardboard cups
Cardboard cups and paper cups are the same family. Both are made from paperboard with a lining that holds the drink.
People in the UK often say cardboard cup for a sturdier takeaway cup. The styles here cover small cups, standard coffee cups and cups sold with lids.
Which cardboard cup to choose
Most cafés start with one standard size and add a small cup for espresso.
| Style | Good for |
|---|---|
| Small cardboard cups | Espresso, tasters and samples |
| Cardboard coffee cups | Everyday takeaway coffee and tea |
| Cardboard cups with lids | Drinks that travel or get delivered |
